Sustainable Procurement Policy

Sustainable Procurement Policy of Yamada Electric Ind. Co., Ltd.

In order to contribute to the progress of society by "creating good products, making them well, and getting more people to buy them," as stated in our company policy, we recognize the importance of the 10 principles in the 4 areas set forth in the UN Global Compact and believe that responsible procurement activities are essential for strengthening our supply chain as a whole, and hereby establish the following We hereby establish our Sustainable Procurement Policy.

Scope of Application

This policy applies to all directors and employees of the YAMADA Group.
We also expect our customers, suppliers, employees, local communities, and all other stakeholders in our business activities to comply with this policy.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations and Fair and Impartial Treatment

We will comply with the laws and regulations applicable in all countries and regions where we do business. We will also strive to build relationships of trust with our business partners by responding in a fair and impartial manner and by eliminating improper acts of misconduct, such as the offering or receipt of inappropriate benefits.

Consideration for Human Rights and Occupational Health and Safety

We respect human rights and promote health and safety in the working environment.

Consideration for the Global Environment

We will promote procurement activities with consideration for global environmental conservation.

Assurance of Safety and Quality

We will ensure sufficient safety and maintain and improve the quality of the products and services we provide.

Cooperation with Suppliers

We will cooperate with our suppliers by asking for their understanding of this policy and their support and cooperation. We will also receive appropriate feedback from our suppliers and make improvements to provide value.

Information Security

We will strengthen and improve our information security measures and prevent leaks of confidential and personal information.

Business Continuity Plan

We will make appropriate preparations for contingencies that may have a significant impact on business continuity, such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks, riots, infectious diseases, and accidents, and strive to restore supply systems as soon as possible.

Monitoring and Information Disclosure

We will conduct checks on new and existing suppliers and monitor them regularly to identify and improve risks in our supply chain.

Establishment of a Reporting Desk

In order to enhance fairness and transparency in our business dealings, we have established a Supplier Reporting Desk to resolve any issues.

Appointing an administrator responsible for issues in the Environmental Field

The Administration Department within the " Sustainability Management Structure" defined in the Basic Policy on Sustainability is the responsible department for the entire group and the head of the Administration Department is the responsible person for all. On the other hand, the person in charge of actual operations is the contact officer for the suppliers at each site.

Setting Quantitative Targets

We have set the following targets regarding「Supplier Survey(*1)

  • Recovery Rate:100%(()Target for Year 2024)
  • Audit Implementation Rate:more than 50%:The Percentage of companies requiring auditing as of the end of June against the number of companies requiring auditing (*2)extracted from each site.
